Chobe is famous for the enormous herds of Elephant and Buffalo that come to feed at the verdant banks of the Chobe River. These are among the largest that you will find anywhere. In fact there estimated to be around 120,000 elephants in the Chobe park.
It's also the most accessible park in Botswana as it's possible to easily make the trip overland from the Livingstone Victoria Falls area. As the climate dries, the Game concentrates near the river area which is flat open terrain making for excellent viewing.

Trips can be taken on the river itself as well as through the national park. As this is a large national park, there is quite a lot of traffic here, so choosing the correct location is important in order to minimise how many other tourists you will see on your game drives.
