The last great natural wilderness, the Amazon is a truly awesome location that needs to be experienced to be fully understood. Peru's Amazon region called Madre de Dios, is located in the southeastern part of the country just north of Lake Titicaca.

The region takes its names from the Madre de Dios river (tributary of the Amazon) that runs through the area. It's a magnificent place to see hyacinth macaws, monkeys, caiman, giant otters and other amazing wildlife in one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet.
