The Amazon basin is at once both the world's most diverse and unknown regions and is a place that has to be seen and experienced to be believed. Tropical rainforest covers most of Peru and though the area of Amazon is greater in Brazil, there are many who argue that the biodiversity of this great wilderness is highest in Northern Peru.

This area is home to the pristina Pacayra Samira reserve of flooded forest.
