This is a fantastic and unique way to really experience the rugged beauty of the Peruvian Andes, hiking during during the day and staying in lodges overnight on an ancient and pristine trail up to Machu Picchu known as the Salkantay route.

This route last 5 nights passing by Salkantay Peak, Collpapampa, Lucmabamba and Llacatapapa. The first 2 nights spent acclimatising to the altidude and exploring the stunning area of Soraypampa where the first lodge is.

Trekking is in small groups of aroud 10 and the trekkers' lodges have no more than 6 rooms each, meaning that this is more personal experience than larger group options.
