Peru's Nazca Lines under threat?

One of the most popular destinations on luxury Peru tours could be at risk from a number of factors, the World Monuments Fund (WMF) has warned.

The Nazca Lines have been identified as being among 67 locations that could be under threat from neglect, growing tourism and a lack of resources.

WMF president Bonnie Burnham commented: "While these sites are historic, they are also very much of the present-integral parts of the lives of the people who come into contact with them every day."

The group established that a plan must be drawn up to protect the Nazca Lines and ensure that communities join together to play a role in this.

One of the most popular places to stay when visiting the ancient site is Libertador Paracas Bay, which offers unparalleled luxury in one of the most fascinating parts of the world.

Highlights include an outdoor pool and on-site spa for ultimate relaxation.
